3 Ways To Get Your Fitness On Track In 2020

It’s here, 2020!  Will this be your year? (Yes, it will!)

It’s an age-old tradition. A year winds down and we realize there are some things that we wanted to do over the last 12 months, but just never got around to actually doing.  Was it to read a book every month?  Call your friend on the phone more?  Or... get your fitness on track?  

No matter how small or big an unaccomplished goal is, it certainly doesn’t feel good to miss.   

So, let's change that.

Here are three things you can do in 2020 to get on track and accomplish what you set out to attain this time around:

1) Start Small.  You have to walk before you run, and take each day one at a time.  Though it's important to know what your end goal is, you need to start somewhere.   Start by getting into the gym three days a week.  Just by showing up, you're already doing more than most people.

2) Set Attainable Goals, And Reassess As You Go.  If you want to lose 20 pounds this year, start by setting a goal of losing 5 pounds by March.   If you find you're losing weight at a faster pace, then readjust that goal to 10 pounds. 

3) Create A Schedule.  This is where we find most people drop the ball; running out of time to get a workout in.  Don't give yourself the option to "run out of time." Make it a part of your scheduled daily tasks and plan your other activities or responsibilities around this task, as you would with any other important thing you need to do.
